Shady oaks of serenity is within a 45 minute drive of the nation's capitol and annapolis, md., home of the u.s. naval academy. it is an ideal location to visit charles or st. mary's counties. We are a Georgia Victorian home situated on 3-acres surrounded by trees. We are off the beaten bath but still within a reasonable distance from the nation's capitol. The Amish country is right down the road with antiques and unique shops, several historic churches, the renowned Dr. Mudd Home and Gilbert Run Park, a favorite country stop. This retreat may also be of interest to those visiting patients at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, only minutes away. Our rooms are decorated with various themes each boasting their own private bath, King-size beds, and a television. Visitors are welcome to gather in the Sitting Room, the front porch, or to enjoy an evening on the deck. The morning brings fresh coffee, homemade muffins or breads and a variety of fresh fruits. Smoking is restricted to the porch or other outside areas. No facilities are available for children under age 14, or for pets.
Check In: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.; however, we will do our best to accommodate your special needs. Check out is 12:00 noon. Reservations: are suggested and may be guaranteed with a deposit of twenty dollars. Your deposit will gladly be refunded if a cancellation is made 24 hours in advance of check in. Failure to cancel a reservation will result in full room charge being assessed. Directions from the South: Approaching from the south, follow MD Rt. 301 to LaPlanta at 301 and Rt. 6. Go east on Rt. 6 approximately 7 miles to a left on Oliver Shop Road. Follow for approximately 4 miles to a right turn on Oaks Road, one mile on Oaks Road to Serenity Drive. Follow to seventh home on the left #7490. Directions from the North: From Beltway 495, take Exit 7. Rt. 5 South towards Waldorf. Upon entering Charles County, move to the far left lane to Mattawoman Beantown Rd (Rt. 205). This road will bypass Waldorf. Continue on this road until you come to the intersection of Rt. 5, turn left by the Texaco Station. Go South on Rt. 5 (Leonardtown Rd.) approximately 5 miles to Oliver Shop Road, turn right at the blinking light and follow 3 miles to Oaks Road, turn left on Oaks Road, go one mile to Serenity Drive, Follow to seventh home on the left #7490.
